BIOGRAPHY
Dantel Ruiz, Associate Litigation Attorney at Durham Law Group, is an experienced attorney specializing in personal injury cases, representing plaintiffs in car accidents, premise liability and slip and fall cases.
Dantel is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. She went on to study law at Georgia State University, where she was an active member of the Public Interest Law Association Auction Committee, Vice President of the Black Law Student’s Association, and served on the Georgia State University Diversity Fee Council.
While studying at Georgia State Law, Dantel worked for the Georgia Innocence Project on appellate reviews of wrongful convictions, and the Georgia Capital Defenders Office on death penalty cases.
Under the 3rd year practice act, Dantel began her trial experience handling hearings, motion arguments, and grand jury presentations for the Dekalb County District Attorney’s Office and Metro Conflict Defender’s Office.
After graduating from law school, and becoming a member of the Georgia Bar, Dantel joined the largest criminal defense firm in Georgia where she first chaired over 20 jury trials, including a homicide by vehicle case, and numerous DUI cases; and second chaired countless others. That extensive trial experience aided Dantel in her transition to civil plaintiff’s practice in 2017, when she began working for a personal injury firm in Morrow, Georgia. Handling a vast caseload, Dantel negotiated with insurance companies for successful resolutions in car accidents, trucking, and slip and fall claims. In 2019, Dantel transitioned to a personal injury practice in Atlanta, GA where she represented injured plaintiffs in settlement negotiations, mediations, depositions, and trials.
In 2021, Dantel joined a civil defense firm, working on behalf of Insurance clients against lawsuits throughout the Middle and North Georgia regions, including the Metro Atlanta Area.
Dantel transitioned back to Plaintiff’s personal injury work when she joined the Durham Law Group in April of 2022, bringing her extensive negotiation, and trial experience to the litigation department, as well as her passion for representing individuals who have been injured by the careless, negligent, and reckless acts of others.
